What is the Rank of Indian Education System in the World: How India is becoming Future Global Leaders

Indian Education System: What is the need for improvement?

There was a time when Bharat became Vishwaguru. Universities like Takshashila and Nalanda have become home to students from all over the world. But today, do you think India's education system is still a part of its golden age?"

“India is a country that is on the verge of becoming a Vishwaguru, but is our education system still able to fulfill the dream? Every year millions of students graduate from schools and colleges, but one question always arises—is this system preparing them for the world?

See, from next month board exams are going to be held in all the states of India, many of the students passed, many of them also failed, the question is that. Are any children still getting proper education?

See, where all the countries in the world are focusing on subjects like coding, AI Robotics and Space Exploration, in India millions of students of our country are stuck in their outdated syllabus.

India is a young country, in which most of the youth of the world live. The question here is:

Is our education system also helping these youth become global leaders?"

See, education is the biggest force in the race for global leadership. But is India's education system failing to develop skills like leadership, creativity, and critical thinking in students?"

"Education does not just mean teaching books, but preparing students for the worldBut is India's education system succeeding in making them a global citizen?"

And everyone is being told the list of world top hundred universities and colleges, in which not even a single university and college from India is included.

"Today we will talk about the lots of problems we face in the Indian education system, global comparison, and the reforms that can improve the future of the country."   Today we will also see how different education systems of the world are preparing students for the new era, and where India stands in all these."

1.Problems in the Indian Education System

According to world education rankings, India's education system is still lagging behind in modernization and equality. While the world is creating new records in AI, Robotics and Space Exploration,

Millions of students in our country are stuck in rote learning and outdated syllabus.

The biggest weakness of the Indian education system is its "rote learning", i.e. ratification. Here students are rated for marks instead of understanding the concepts. In this, students study only for marks, without understanding the conceptsAccording to a survey, 80% of Indian students study only for exams and not to improve their knowledge.

And all this cycle suppresses their creativity and logical thinking." Students cannot become leaders of the world just by reading books and taking exams."

Now you can see for yourself that 80% of Indian students study only for exams and not to improve their knowledge. And anyway, Practical knowledge is a big problem in India, emphasis is given on theory subjects in India."

2. Outdated Curriculum:

"The second problem is the outdated curriculumWhen the world is focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, more emphasis is given on old concepts in our syllabus."

Our syllabus includes topics like AI, Climate Change, and Financial Literacy. While the world is focusing on advanced technologies, we are still revising old subjects."

3. Inequality in Access:

" Apart from this, inequality in the education system is also a big problem. Education quality in India is also quite unequal.

The gap between private and government schools is very big. Government schools in rural areas lack a lot of infrastructure and resources, especially in rural areas.

Which keeps students away from global level competition. The gap between private and government schools has become so wide that students from rural areas are falling behind." While urban students enjoy the benefits of advanced facilities,

Even today basic education is a struggle for rural students in our country."

4. Examination Pressure and Mental Health Issues:

"Besides, ignoring examination pressure and mental health is also an alarming issue in India. "In 2023 alone, more than 12,000 students ended their lives due to stress. "Our education system has become a game of numbers instead of nurturing talent."

And by the way, in our country success still means only marks and ranks. "Skills, innovation, and extracurricular activities have been given secondary importance even today."

"And what is left are the top students of India who are going to countries like America, Europe, Germany and Australia for higher education. Those who have all those qualities which are of most importance for the development of any country, those who return from there. The number of which is very less, which is one in IndiaBrain drain is creating crisis."But the real reason behind all this is our educational management system.

4. Teacher Quality and Training:

Teachers are the backbone of an education system, their training and upskilling is not given attention. How can a teacher give personalized education to 50-60 students?

Even today, our traditional teaching methods do not push students' creativity and innovation. Only theoretical knowledge is given in classrooms, which is not enough to solve global challenges.

If we compare it globally we would be left nowhere. After all why students do not come to our country. As an example, if we look at a few countries

Global Comparison: India vs the World

1. Finland – The Pioneer of Holistic Education:

According to me, Finland is at number 1.Because known for its free public education, well-paid teachers, and less emphasis

More than half of the World Top 100 universities have studied here.  Institutes like IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi are crossing 150-200 ranks.

3. China – Confluence of Discipline and Technology:

"China has integrated technology into its education systemHere students are taught skills like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and computer coding from school level. We can start learning all these skills from school level. Their schools and universities are known for innovation and research. "Discipline and standardized learning methods are its foundation."

4. Germany – Dual Education Model:

In Germany's dual education system, students seek professional skills along with classroom learning. This model makes them a confident leader and skilled professional." "In Germany, vocational training is a part of every student's curriculum. "Students here graduate after learning practical and job-oriented skills."

"The vocational training system here is an example in the worldHere students learn practical skills along with theory, which prepares them for the job market.

5. Australia – Outdoor Learning and Life Skills:

7. France and England:

"France and England have made reforms in their education system since the 15th century. Their focus is on research and innovation. With this face, these countries have maintained their authority in every corner of the world." The universities here are also from very old times like Oxford, Cambridge and Sorbonne.

You will go to Google and search to know about the quality of education in your country. All these countries maintain a balanced approach between independent learning, creativity and solid skill based knowledge. So all these people, if I am a doctor in my mind then you will tell me where does India stand right now in education.

Where Does India Stand?

"While the world is adopting new age education systems, India is still struggling with its old challenges."

1. Personalized Learning:

"Indian classrooms are based on a one-size-fits-all model"Addressing every student's interests and capabilities is still a dream."

2. Digital Divide:

"Despite the digital revolution, there is a huge digital gap between rural and urban schools in India"Only 35% schools have proper internet access."

3. Lack of Innovation:

"India's education system does not inspire students for innovation and research. This is why we are behind in global patents and discoveries."

4. Skill gap in our education is also a big problem.

"According to a report, only 20% of Indian graduates are prepared for the job market"Lack of practical and vocational training affects the career growth of students."

Let's look at all these to see what reforms are there that can change Indian education.

What are the possible reforms that we can implement?

"Improving our system is difficult, necessary, but not impossible." If India's education system is to become a global leader, then some major reforms are required.

"Big and necessary steps will have to be taken to improve India's education system."

First of all we will have to focus on Future Skills.

1. Focus on Future Skills:

"Subjects like AI, Robotics, Coding, and Entrepreneurship will have to be included in the syllabus from school level."

Leadership programs will have to be introduced in schools and colleges. "It is important to make skills like public speaking, problem-solving, and decision-making a part of the curriculum."

"21st century skills like AI, Coding, Financial Literacy and Climate Change will have to be included in the syllabus.

2. Infrastructure Development:

For this, the government should provide digital tools and internet facilities in rural and remote schools."

"The gap between government and private schools will have to be closed, in which schools in rural areas will have to be equipped with advanced technology and infrastructure." "The government should invest in better infrastructure and resources in schools and colleges."

"Research and startup culture will have to be improved, for this the government and private sectors will have to invest more."

4. After this we will have to pay attention on Teacher Upskilling

"AI-driven teaching methods and soft skills training programs should be compulsory for teachers." We have to start regular upskilling and training programs for our teachers, so that they can adopt the techniques of the new times."

Regular programs will have to be introduced for all of them, so that they can understand the teaching methods." besides this Every school should have counselors who can support students by managing their stress and anxiety."

5. Vocational Training at Every Level:

"Inspired by Germany's dual education model, India will adopt vocational training and apprenticeships."

Students will have to be given practical and vocational training along with theory, so that they can be prepared for the job market. There should be a vocational training module for every student, in which they can be taught career-oriented skills."

"For leadership development and Research and Innovation: extracurricular activities will have to be given equal importance to academics."

Indian universities will form partnerships with global universities to provide students with international exposure and experience.Universities need more funding and global collaborations to promote research-oriented learning."

India's Potential to Lead the World

Look, I am not saying that India is short of talent.

"India has no shortage of talent and potential. The success stories of ISRO and IITs prove that if we get the right platform and opportunities, we are no less than anyone in the world."

"Reforming the Indian education system is a huge challenge, but it is possibleAn improved education system will not only change the future of our students, but will also make India face the world in a new and stronger form." Envisioning a new India is only possible when our students are not only number 1 in studies, but also number 1 in leadership and innovation. hon."

In 2020, India announced a new education policy—National Education Policy 2020. This policy promotes multidisciplinary learning, coding, and vocational training. But implementation is still a big challenge."

India has the potential to build a strong education system, which can set an example not just for our youth, but for the entire world."India has the potential to produce the world's greatest leaders. All that is needed is a reformative education system that teaches them creativity, innovation, and leadership."

Conclusion

"Education in India does not just mean a degree, it means creating a future-ready human being. If the right reforms are brought in, India can become the leader in education in the world.

The real goal of education is not just a degree, it is to create a human being who will make the world a better place."

Because education is something that prepares you for life, not just for an exam."
