Today, a video of Delhi Metro is going viral on social media, in which some people are seen raising Islamic slogans like "Nara-e-Takbeer" and "Allah ki Shakti Ali Ali". The incident is said to have taken place near Udyog Bhawan, where passengers felt uncomfortable with the development. It is clearly visible in the video that some girls are raising slogans.
It can be seen in the video that a group of about 50 Muslim passengers board the metro near Jor Bagh station. Some of them shouted Islamic slogans, and some were wearing a special shirt with "Maqsad-e-Karbala" written on it. The raising of such religious slogans created resentment and discomfort among other passengers.
After the video went viral, debate has started on social media regarding this incident. Many users condemned this religious display. One user wrote, "Raising such extremist slogans in public places like Delhi Metro is extremely disturbing." At the same time, another user raised the question, "What is the use of sloganeering and Karbala in Delhi Metro?"
People are concerned that such religious demonstrations may disturb the peace of public places like the metro and may threaten the safety of passengers.
Till now there has been no official reaction from Delhi Metro and Delhi Police on this incident. However, in view of the increasing controversies regarding such issues on social media, the police and metro administration are expected to take action soon.
This incident once again raises the question as to what place religious and political slogans should have in public places. People say that while respecting religious beliefs, the feelings of all passengers should be taken care of in places like public transport so that no discomfort or controversy arises
